14 April 2016 PNW Migration Update

The wind is perfect for flight — strong and out of the south.  But there is just too much rain to get a sustained flight off the ground.

There was a nice break in the middle of the night and a decent, but moderate, flight organized.  I put up both the Reflectivity and the Hydrometeor loops today.  Look for the brick red Biological (BI) returns on the HC loop.

The low pressure system that is bringing this weather has organized and is pushed right up against the coast.  It should move through today and trail off to the east by tomorrow.  It looks like we may get a ridge coming in — nice weather but north winds on the leading edge.
